Day 1

Day 1: Ausangate Lakes

We begin in the morning with pickup from your accommodation to head to the community of Pacchanta, a small Andean village located at the foot of the majestic Ausangate snow-capped mountain. The journey by tourist transport takes about 3 hours.
Upon arrival in Pacchanta, we will enjoy a traditional breakfast to start the day with energy. After a brief talk with the guide and getting ready for the hike, we will begin the walk towards the high-Andean lakes of the area.
The first lake we will see is Pukaqocha, followed by Pataqocha and the beautiful Alqa Qocha. Continuing the path, we will visit Q’omer Qocha and then the twin lakes Orqo Otorongo and China Otorongo, named after their particular shapes. We will finish the hike at the impressive Azul Qocha, surrounded by mountains and unforgettable landscapes.
After walking approximately 3 hours among lakes and high-altitude trails, we return to Pacchanta to enjoy a comforting lunch. We will also have the option to relax in its natural hot springs, surrounded by an atmosphere of pure tranquility.
Finally, we will return to Cusco.
