Day 1

Day 1: Moray and Maras Salt Mines

We begin in the morning with hotel pickup, then head towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas. On the way, we will make a brief stop in the town of Maras, and then continue to Moray, an Inca agricultural research center where various crop experiments were carried out thanks to its impressive circular terraces.
Afterwards, we will visit the Maras Salt Mines with more than 3,000 pools of different sizes and dimensions, fed by salty waters emerging from the mountain’s subsoil. Today, this salt is used in gourmet cuisine. Then, we will head to the archaeological center of Chinchero and its colonial church.
Return to Cusco.
